You must be over 19 years old, possess good English skills in both reading and writing, and have knowledge of the subject you wish to teach or deliver training in.

Course Modules

The three modules which create the Level 3 Award in Education and Training are:

  1. Understanding roles, responsibilities and relationships in education and training.
  2. Understanding and using inclusive teaching and learning approaches in education and training.
  3. Understanding assessment in education and training.
What the course Covers

When you have completed the Level 3 Award in Education and Training you will be able to:

  • Understand ways to maintain a safe and supportive learning environment
  • Understand the relationships between teachers and other professionals in education and training
  • Understand inclusive teaching and learning approached in education and training
  • Understand ways to create an inclusive teaching and learning environment
  • Be able to plan inclusive teaching and learning
  • Be able to deliver inclusive teaching and learning
  • Be able to evaluate the delivery of inclusive teaching and learning
  • Understand type and methods of assessment used in education and training
  • Understand how to involve learners and others in the assessment process
  • Understand the role and use of constructive feedback in the assessment process
  • Understand requirements for keeping records of assessment in education and training.
How is this Course assessed

The qualification is assessed through short workbooks and a micro-teach session.

The micro-teach session can be

  • a submitted recording of a one-hour session you deliver at your workplace or any place you teach others
  • a 15 minute, online virtual training with your peers in a pre-determined session
  • an in-person session in a classroom environment

Please note, if you choose the option to record your own session, this must be at least 60 minutes long to meet the qualification requirements.

You will be given feedback on your workbooks, and should it not meet the minimum requirements for the qualification you will be given the opportunity to resubmit.  Whilst there are no limits on the number of resubmissions, most learners who are required to resubmit pass on their second attempt.

Duration
The course is available through the following routes: Virtual learning takes place over 3 days (with homework to be completed at your pace) Self-Study takes approximately 48 study hours in total to complete, however you go at your own pace. Classroom training is 3 days (with homework to be completed at your pace) Learners can take as little as 48 study hours to complete the course, up to 12 months depending on lifestyle and other commitments.
Course Qualification
Upon successful completion of the course, you will gain the Level 3 Award in Education and Training award which will entitle you to teach adults in FE colleges and/or become an Independent Training Provider in your chosen subject(s).
Prerequisite

You must be over 19 years old, possess good English skills in both reading and writing, and have knowledge of the subject you wish to teach or deliver training in.

Course Resources

All learners will be offered a course induction session and have ongoing access to a tutor who can be contacted by phone, email, or within study groups.

Online access to the full training content for the Level 3 Award in Education and Training will be given to all, no matter what the chosen method of study is.  Free access to this eLearning package is for one year and includes all PowerPoint presentations, a personalised study plan, course notes and handouts.

Access to the eLearning package is 24/7 and can be logged into from any device which has an internet connection.
