Level 1 Qualification in Sports Leadership
The Level 1 Award in Sports Leadership (suited to transition year students) provides the ideal starting point for learners who wish to develop their leadership skills, whilst under the direct supervision of their Tutor. The syllabus is designed to develop generic leadership skills that can be applied to a variety of sports and/or recreational situations as well as contributing to the personal development of the learner.
Unit 1 – Establishing leadership skills
1. Know the skills and behaviours needed to lead others
2. Know how leadership skills and behaviours can be used in a range of situations
3. Be able to develop own leadership skills
4. Understand the roles and responsibilities of a Sports Leader
Unit 2 – Plan, assist in leading and review sport/physical activity
1. Know how to plan appropriate sport/physical activity
2. Be able to plan appropriate sport/physical activity .
3. Be able to assist in leading appropriate sport/physical activity
4. Be able to review their role in the leading of sport/physical activity
