Level 2 Qualification in Community Sports Leadership
The Level 2 Award in Community Sports Leadership is a nationally recognised qualification that enables successful candidates to lead groups of people in sport/activity, under indirect supervision.
The qualification teaches generic leadership skills such as organisation, planning, communication and teamwork through the medium of sport.
The Level 2 Qualification in Community Sports Leadership (CSL2) is recognised in personal statements
The award consists of seven units of work:
- Plan, lead and evaluate a sport/activity session
- Developing leadership skills
- Lead a session to improve fitness
- Adapting sports activities
- Establish and maintain a safe sport/activity session
- Organise and deliver a sports event or competition
- Pathways in sport and recreation
The content is delivered by tutors with many years of practical coaching experience in real life situations, will give candidates a range of knowledge and help them to develop their own effective coaching style.
This is a multisports award and will give coaches a useful tool kit of transferable skills.
This course requires an element of practical delivery (10 hours) and we can help candidates to gain those hours both through its partnership with community clubs and through it’s own commercial coaching arm.
The qualification will take approximately 42 guided learning hours in total. The aim is for candidates to complete the course within 2 months of the start date. Candidates can be reassessed over a 2 year period if required.
Continuous assessment of set tasks evidenced through a personal learner record. A minimum of 5 additional volunteering hours are required
